Hardscape University Bootcamp

Overview

During the offseason, Acer’s staff is continuously learning. We are adding new skills, educating ourselves on the latest products and installation best practices. A large portion of our staff has certifications in various parts of our offered services.

A 2023 highlight was three employees attending Hardscape University Bootcamp. This 6-day event had us design and build a $150k backyard project from start to finish. We honed some skills we already had, and added plenty of new ones. This was a seriously great experience.

Elements

Fire pit, water features, outdoor kitchen, bar, terraced patios, pergola, porcelain tile, pavers, concrete, stone veneer, and plenty of lighting

Start-to-Finish

4 weeks

Before the Work Began

Everyone begins with a blank canvas. We were challenged (and mentored) to design a space to include fire, water, kitchen, bar, elevation changes, pergola, porcelain tile, pavers, concrete, stone veneer, and plenty of lighting.

Construction

Here are some images of the design process and some construction in progress.

Aquascape

We made a trip to nearby Aquascape HQ, and received a behind the scenes tour.  After visiting this amazing place, we are excited to do even more with water in the future.

Finished Project

Just about every element that anyone could want or need in their backyard outdoor living space is highlighted in this mini project. Acer’s crew is pictured below with lead trainer Cruz, an amazing mentor to be around for a week.
