Is Acer Landscaping insured?

Yes, please see our current Liability Insurance certificate. We carry $2 million in liability coverage, double the industry standard. All employees are covered under worker’s compensation insurance, per Wisconsin law.

Who will work on my property?

Well-trained, supervised personnel with the proper equipment. All Acer Landscaping employees wear a company uniform, so it should be clear who our staff are.

Are you a licensed Landscaper?

Yes, we hold all the necessary State Licenses for Wisconsin.

Are your workers Certified?

Yes. Several staff members been through training with the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute or are certified installers (paver patios). Nate Thibedeau (owner) is ICPI-certified and carries addition certification for installing permeable pavements. Several staff members have been through WI Salt Wise training and testing for responsible use of salt in the winter. Annual trips to the Green Industry Expo and Hardscape North America events provide further staff training by industry experts.

Do we provide free estimates?

Yes. Many estimates and proposals can be done without a formal plan. If a detailed plan and/or 3D images of a project are required or requested, we charge for the time involved in creating this plan.

Where do we purchase materials?

Plants, building materials, and hardscape materials are purchased through local growers and suppliers whenever possible.

Zone 5 is the Dark green areas on this Hardiness Zone Map.

Do we guarantee plants?

Yes. We will guarantee, for a period of one year from the date of installation, most woody plant material and labor costs. The following exceptions apply: Japanese Maples, Roses, Rhododendron, Perennials, and all plants not designated for Zone 5. Warranty covers a one-time replacement only within the first year.

Bills must be paid within 30 days of invoicing to keep guarantees in force. The guarantee is also contingent on the customer watering plants as needed. This guarantee does not cover damage from animals, ice, snow, wind, or poor use of chemicals.

Do we guarantee sod and annual flowers?

No. Sod and annual flowers can be the fastest and most efficient way to add color and value to your landscape. Unfortunately, both sod and annual flowers are also the most drought-sensitive items we install.

What can I expect to spend landscaping my entire property?

Assuming you are asking for all key components - hardscape, drainage, irrigation, lighting, plant material, etc. - a realistic range is 10 - 20% of your home's value. This can be higher or lower based on site conditions, access, plant selection, etc.

What type of return can I expect on my investment?

Money magazine estimates that you can expect to recover 100%-200% of your landscaping cost when you sell.

Do you offer tree services like pruning or tree removal?

One of the few areas Acer Landscaping does not specialize in is large scale tree removal and pruning. We highly recommend contacting Brent or Garrett at Heartwood Tree Company for any large tree work you may need. When incorporated into a landscape project, we can help coordinate details and timing to make things go smoothly on both ends.
