Two-Level Terrace Patio in Monona

Overview

Another project with some significant elevation challenges. In order to increase usable space, we designed a two-level patio with access to both the existing deck and 3-season room.

Elements

Natural stone patio, stone walls, stone steps, terraced patios

Start-to-Finish

4 weeks

Before the Work Began

Here is a view of previous existing space, as well as some 2D and 3D design images.  The design process really helps to layout the project and get a feel for final result.

Building Stone Pathways & Stairs

Some images here show some of the base going in and compaction, and starting to install some pavers.  You can see that proper wall construction requires them to start well below final grade, some of your retaining wall is always buried.

Finished Patio

Stone faced coping on the walls, extra wide steps for easy access.  This patio installation really transformed this backyard!
